Meet Jewel!
Jewel is an Administrative Assistant for the Public School Division and has been married to her high school sweetheart for almost 25 years. Together, they have a 25-year-old son and spend their weekends at the lake with their dogs, soaking up the outdoors and enjoying long walks.

Jewel’s CrossFit journey began in 2018 at another gym, but like many, the pandemic disrupted her routine. Life became even more challenging when her husband was diagnosed with cancer. Once things settled with him, Jewel realized she needed an outlet and decided to give CrossFit CL (150) a try at the suggestion of a friend.

Why CrossFit CL (150)?
"Everyone is so welcoming, kind, and helpful," Jewel shares. Her goal is straightforward yet powerful: to take care of herself both physically and mentally. Since joining, she’s grown stronger than ever—her most recent achievement is a 205 lb deadlift!

Jewel loves the flexibility of class times, attending early morning, lunch, and evening classes. She credits the incredible coaches for their guidance and safety-first approach, as well as her fellow members for their camaraderie. "I was the last one finishing a workout with 100 wallballs and 50 burpees. Two people who were done jumped in and finished alongside me. How can you not love coming here?"

Favorite Movement
Rope climbing has become Jewel’s favorite—and she’s crushing it! "When I started, I could only sit and walk my hands up the rope. Now, I can touch the top of the rig. Small steps, right?"

Why Jewel Loves CrossFit
Having tried other gyms, Jewel appreciates the simplicity and structure of CrossFit: "The workout is planned for you. You just have to show up, work hard, and leave sweaty! You start as a group, end as a group, and the sense of community is unmatched."

Jewel, we’re so inspired by your journey and determination. Thank you for being such an incredible part of our community! 💪🎉
