How Our Virtual Classes Work
These are not lonely, pre-produced videos. Our classes are fully interactive and coached in real time:
Group Connection: We start by checking in and catching up together.
Personalized Prep: Your coach reviews the workout, tailoring it to your equipment, experience, or injuries.
Guided Movements: We walk through a warm-up and technique cues before starting the workout.
Live Coaching: Your coach stays on screen to encourage you and protect your safety.
Cool Down: We finish with mobility work and a bit of post-workout chat before signing off.
Flexible Schedule & WhatsApp Community
We run all live virtual classes through Zoom. Sign-up is required through our Fliip booking platform.

What Equipment Do I Need?
Start with whatever you have at home—we will always make it work! If you want to build up your setup over time, here is what we recommend:
Dumbbells: Start with one pair, then add more later.
Resistance Bands: Both large loops and mini bands.
Recovery Tools: A foam roller or massage balls.
Cardio (Optional): A bike, rower, or treadmill if you have one.
Growth (Optional): Kettlebells or a barbell as your confidence grows.

Coaches
Valarie Adamson
Val began her CrossFit journey in 2008, and along the way, discovered a passion for Olympic Weightlifting and Powerlifting, competing nationally in all three disciplines. Transitioning from a competitive mindset to a fitness-for-life approach was a significant process for her. Throughout this journey, she navigated various injuries, body dysmorphia and was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. These experiences, combined with her education, have taught her invaluable lessons. Her goal now is to help others find the right fit for their fitness journey and cultivate long-term habits for a healthier, more fulfilling life.
MERANDA FRERICHS
Meranda joined CFCL as a member after the gym reopened post-COVID, looking for a way to stay active while reconnecting with community — and quickly found her place. With over 14 years of coaching experience in gymnastics, she brings a deep love for movement, learning, and helping others grow. She transitioned into CrossFit coaching because of her passion for lifelong, functional fitness and the opportunity to work with athletes of all ages. Known for her energy, organization, and attention to detail, Meranda is especially passionate about coaching kids and helping them build confidence through movement.
DIEGO AMPUERO
Diego was born and raised in Lima, Peru, where Spanish is his first language. With a background in business, he moved to Winnipeg in 2018 and has stayed active through sport, growing up playing soccer and Paleta Frontón. He discovered CrossFit in 2016 and has went on to compete in several local competitions, earning a few wins along the way. In 2025, he completed his Personal Trainer certification and now enjoys helping others move well, build strength, and stay consistent in their training.
NORA RITTINGER
Nora has been coaching at CrossFit CL since 2022, starting with our kids' gymnastics and weightlifting programs. She is now part of the adult CrossFit and Virtual coaching team, bringing her energy and enthusiasm to even more classes. For Nora, CrossFit and weightlifting are about more than fitness—they’ve helped her manage stress, build confidence, and connect with an inspiring community. As a coach, she’s especially passionate about helping young girls see how strong and capable they truly are.

Can’t make it to the live stream? No problem. All current members get access to our library of 50+ recorded classes, so you can work out on your own schedule—without missing the coaching, structure, or community feel.
Our recordings are unedited, real-time sessions, so it’s just like stepping into the live class. You’ll hear coaching cues, see other members moving alongside you, and get equipment options and movement modifications as the workout unfolds.
It’s not polished or pre-produced—and that’s the point.
