ALICE CULIN-ELLISON
Say hello to Alice…which initials spell ACE! So we might be part of the few people who may call her that now :D
Alice lives in Louisville, Kentucky and is a Violinist. She started CrossFit in 2017 and loved it. She continued CF through covid, but after, left her gym to try a variety of other active things like rock climbing, backpacking, paddle boarding etc.
“I love all these things and still do them frequently but found I was missing daily exercise and the accountability to keep it up. I started developing a knee injury from hiking and knew I had to get back to regular exercise, specifically with weights.
Also as a musician, there is much that is intangible about my profession - in contrast, being unable to lift a certain weight one day and working towards that and it becoming a reality is very tangible and I derive great joy from this!
With that said, my schedule makes it difficult to be in town enough to go to a gym physically, and I wanted to find something that was flexible for all the traveling I do for performing around the country (US). I was googling and found CFCL Virtual class and got in touch right away, and it was love at first workout! I knew right away that I would keep it up.
Our little virtual community is so wonderful and I look forward to seeing everyone each morning! I can take bands on my travels or just use bodyweight, and I always get a great workout. I spent a month on the west coast and was unsure how I'd fare as I'm not a morning person, but I made almost every workout, waking up at 4:30am local time for 5am workout, thanks to the friendship and great exercise! I'm grateful to have this more often when I am at home in Louisville, Kentucky where I actually have a barbell and weights!”
Outside of working out, Alice loves to spend her weekends either performing or going on outdoor adventures.
“A day hike for me is often 18-20 miles, and a weekend of backpacking with just one overnight might be 30 miles! I've performed all over the world including China, Japan, France, the UK, and in mostly the midwest of the US where I live.”
