Winter Is Coming… League
November 10 – December 20
Winter is coming — and the Houses of CFCL are gathering once again.
League is back, to help our community stay connected, consistent, and ready for battle through the transition to the cold season.
Starting the week of Monday, November 10, you’ll take on six weeks of fun, team-based workouts that test your strength, conditioning, and skills in true CFCL fashion. Each workout is designed for all ages and experience levels, with scaling options to keep it challenging yet accessible for every warrior in the realm.
Each Friday, a new “Test of the Realm” will be in store. Complete it anytime before Sunday at midnight to log your score in Beyond the Whiteboard. Want another attempt at glory? You can redo workouts before the weekly cutoff — just make sure your score is recorded before the Wall closes.
Your performance will contribute to your House’s total score on the leaderboard. At the end of six weeks, we’ll crown our first-ever CFCL Winter League Champions, who will claim the Winter Belt and the honor of ruling the realm (until Summer League returns…).
Registration
$25 per athlete (open to current CFCL members)
Sign up through the Fliip app under your membership tab or follow this LINK
Team draft will be completed by the end of Week 1 (late sign-ups will be placed to keep Houses balanced; averages will be used)
Invite a Friend to Join Your House
Every House needs new allies. Invite a friend, family member, or fellow warrior who’s not yet part of the CFCL realm to join you!
All non-members can attend a Free Group Foundations Session on Sunday, November 9 (a $99 value) and then participate fully in Winter League from Nov 10 – Dec 20.
It’s the perfect way for new recruits to experience the energy, community, and camaraderie that make CFCL a kingdom of strength and resilience.
Feast of the Realm
We’ll end our six-week campaign with the CFCL Holiday Potluck Celebration on Saturday, December 20 at 12:30 PM — a time to feast, celebrate victories, and honor all who stayed strong through the cold.

Tests of the Realm
Week 1: “The Crossing”
For Time:
100/80 Cal Row
The first test of the realm — a long, cold crossing through churning waters.
Each stroke brings your House closer to safety… or deeper into the storm.
Score: Time to complete.
Week 2: “The Iron Throne”
3 Rep Max: Bench Press
The Iron Throne is not claimed by the faint of heart — it’s built on iron, fire, and strength.
How heavy can you press when the weight of the realm rests on your chest?
Score: Heaviest successful 3-rep lift.
Week 3: “Trial by Fire”
For Time (20 min cap):
21 dumbbell snatches, arm 1
21 lateral burpees over dumbbell
21 dumbbell snatches, arm 2
21 lateral burpees over dumbbell
15 dumbbell snatches, arm 1
15 lateral burpees over dumbbell
15 dumbbell snatches, arm 2
15 lateral burpees over dumbbell
9 dumbbell snatches, arm 1
9 lateral burpees over dumbbell
9 dumbbell snatches, arm 2
9 lateral burpees over dumbbell
The flames rise. The faithful endure.
Move quickly and with purpose — every rep is a battle to prove your worth before the gods of fitness.
Score: Time (add 1 second for each incomplete rep).
Week 4: “The Carry of Kings”
Max Distance: 35/50# Farmers Carry (one unbroken attempt)
In the North, true rulers are measured not by crowns, but by what they can carry.
Grip the weight, walk the line, and do not falter — for once it drops, your reign ends.
Score: Total distance in feet.
Week 5: “The Long Night”
For Reps:
Every 2 mins — 12/9 Cal Bike + Skips (1 DU = 3 Singles)
1 min rest × 5 rounds
When darkness falls and the air burns cold, only endurance keeps the fire alive.
Ride, skip, and outlast the night — every round a fight to keep the light from fading.
Score: Total skipping reps.
Week 6: “The Dead Will Rise”
3 Rep Max: Deadlift
The final test of the season.
Rise from the ashes of the cold, summon your strength, and lift as if the fate of your House depends on it — because it does.
Score: Heaviest successful 3-rep lift.

Reputation
House Dothfjord is known for:
elite scouts and rangers who move silently along frozen coasts
austere discipline, almost Stark-like but more maritime
a fleet of narrow, fast longships designed for stealth, not war
little political ambition, but quietly dangerous when crossed
They rarely speak of their ancient lineage, but claim descent from early First Men who sailed the northern coastlines before the Age of Heroes.
