Our doors opened in 2016 but our vision for a better gym began in 2009.

The birth of our community started out of Jason's (aka Tron’s) garage in the summer of 2016. The crew became known as “sTRONgFit” YXE when we opened our doors that fall, as everyone that was a member had been previously coached by Jason and chose to follow him. Thanks to all of our first members, coaches and pillars of our community, we now had a strong foundation and sense of direction.

In 2017 we chose to become a CrossFit affiliate and StrongFit YXE became the home of “CrossFit CL” (roman numeral for 150). Our CrossFit affiliation opened the doors for us to give others an opportunity to experience the same joy in exercise and the same positive and supportive culture that we’ve established. So we have moved to use our affiliate name CrossFit OneFifty (CL), to better define our purpose as a gym and community, and include everyone beyond the original sTRONgFit crew.

The number 150 refers to Dunbar’s number principle; that we can maintain about 150 meaningful relationships at a time, have about 50 friends, 15 good friends and 5 really close friends. Our goal and purpose is to help our members cultivate these connections, as part of our 5 most impactful factors to health and happiness - EAT. SLEEP. MOVE. THINK. CONNECT.

EAT. “Eat food. Mostly plants. Not too much.”

SLEEP. “Sleep 7-9 hours for a healthy mind and body.”

MOVE. “Constantly varied, functional movements, performed at high and low intensities.”

THINK. “Thoughts become words, words become actions, actions become habits, habits shape your identity.”

CONNECT. “Maintain deep, meaningful relationships. Love conquers all.”

In our logo the star represents the individual member. The 5 points of the star are the 5 most impactful factors that we assist each member in developing. Then each circle (white or black) represents the increasing relationships and connections we try to help cultivate as a community. The text remains the same typeface as our original StrongFit YXE logo/text, to maintain the sentiment from where we started.

Also, after years of being monochrome we wanted to bring life and colour into our look and space - orange, green & purple! Instead of choosing one colour, we wanted to choose multiple colours to represent multiple walks of life that we welcome as part of our community; different races, ages, genders, sizes and so on. We also intentionally chose non-primary colours to represent the mix and inclusiveness we want to represent and encourage.

We encourage taking the long, consistent route. Celebrating hard work, incremental progress, and consistency. Our focus is on creating a safe and effective environment for learning and practicing all of the skills to best express your fitness and live your best life.

We encourage you to talk to our members or read about what they have to say HERE. As well as get to know our entire team that help bring CFCL to life. Read a bit about them HERE, and they look forward to getting to know you as well.

You make people better than when they walked in. That’s adding value to someone and providing a good customer experience and ultimately great customer service.
