Weightlifting Meet Assistance and Introduction to Coaching
Do you have an interest in coaching Weightlifting, or want to be more involved with the sport? Or are you interested in signing up for a meet, but there are too many unknowns?
CrossFit Brio will be hosting their annual Moustache Open on November 26th, and StrongFit YXE's Kilostalk Weightlifting Club will be in there in full force! It will be the last local meet of the season, and so I encourage as many as possible to come out and see the logistics of a meet. If you have an interest in assisting with coaching, or would like to work towards becoming a coach, you can join us in the athlete area to understand what is involved with preparing athletes, mentally and physically. Meet-coaching is not the type of coaching you would expect or are used to, but rather how to sync up athlete attempts in the warm-up area with whatever load is being called on the competition platform, as well as developing and maintaining confidence. We are also responsible for loading weights for athletes, keeping them focused on their upcoming performance, and in maintaining a positive and supportive environment.
If this sounds interesting to you and you would like to know more, please contact me at jason@strongfityxe.com or stop me next time you see me at the gym.
ALSO - if you haven't signed up but plan on competing, we are less than two weeks away from the big day and registration will close well before then.
