StrongFit YXE Weightlifting: Novice Series & Intermediate Series

If you were interested in participating in this, please take a look at the following details. There will be a 2.5 hour session on Saturday, May 6th and a 2.5 hour session Saturday, May 13th, with a maximum of 6 registrants. Cost is $75/person and a tee-shirt will be included if it arrives on time, or else we will drop it off for you/mail it out. Please send videos to (306) 880-1466 or via Facebook messenger.

Novice Weightlifting

  • Fairly new to the sport or are looking to learn the basics

  • Can squat, deadlift, and press with no limitations in mobility or experiencing pain

    • What to expect:

      • Breaking down the phases of the starting position, the pull, the drop, and the raise portions of the snatch

      • Breaking down the starting position, the pull, the drop, and the raise portions of the clean

      • Breaking down the rack position, the dip, the jerk, and the raise portions of the jerk

      • Build to technically challenging weights in snatch and c & j

      • Using videos, observe where you break down in each of these components to self-identify and self-cue

  • Send me a video of pvc / broomstick of snatch (5 reps)

  • Send me a video of pvc / broomstick of clean & jerk (5 reps)

    • What are your best:

      • Power Snatch

      • Squat Snatch

      • Power Clean

      • Squat Clean

      • Split Jerk

      • Clean & Jerk (together)

      • Back Squat

  • Who is your favourite Weightlifter and why

  • Available AM or PM or both on May 6th & May 13th


Intermediate Weightlifting

  • Have been weightlifting (not exclusively) for one year or longer

  • Can squat, deadlift, and press with no limitations in mobility or experiencing pain

    • What to expect:

      • Observe ideal hip, knee, torso angles throughout each of the pulls

      • Understanding gaps in muscle activation within the starting positions, pulls, drops, and raising portions of all lifts

      • Build to technically challenging weights in snatch and c & j

      • Using videos, observe where you break down in each of these components to self-identify and self-cue

  • Send me a video of pvc / broomstick snatch and 50% snatch (5 reps)

  • Send me a video of pvc / broomstick c & j and 50% c & j (5 reps)

    • What are your best:

      • Back Squat

      • Snatch (Training & Competition)

      • Clean & Jerk (Training & Competition)

  • Who is your favourite Weightlifter and why

  • Available AM or PM or both on May 6th & May 13th
