The Wilkinson-Reich Duo

This unique and vibrant duo, Ryan "Reacher" Reich and Shauna "S Dubb" Wilkinson, have etched their story in our community. Their journey, filled with laughter, sweat, and shared determination, is a testament to the transformative power that CrossFit and community can have.

Shauna's journey into CrossFit wasn't conventional. It started when her friend Allison encouraged her to sign up for a research study about CrossFit…where she got “stuck” in the rowing group. But thanks to Coach Jason's encouragement she went to a "bring a friend" class, igniting a love for CrossFit right away.

From then, Shauna followed Jason a few places and was an OG of CrossFit (or StrongFit YXE as it was called at the time). She got sick of her partner Ryan staying in bed while she went to join her early morning crew at the gym, so she used a bit of reverse psychology to make some changes. She declared CrossFit was "her thing" and emphasized that the gym was her sanctuary of friends. The outcome – Ryan finally decided to join her, and what began as a solo pursuit became a shared passion.

For Ryan, two decades of a sedentary lifestyle came to an end when he kept witnessing Shauna's enthusiasm for CrossFit. Shauna, armed with her mix of reverse psychology and a hint of guilt-tripping, paved the way for Ryan to step into the world of CrossFit.

Though Ryan still refers to his beginning as "kill a friend" week (aka “Bring-A-Friend” week), his initial hesitations melted away and were replaced by a commitment fueled by the welcoming community of CrossFit CL. CrossFit became a sanctuary where Ryan & Shauna thrived, individually and together. They both see gains beyond the physical, guided by the supportive community

Smaller class sizes and one-on-one coaching was integral to Ryan, as well as eliminating the need for any planning – he is able to just show up and put in the work. For Shauna, the post-workout euphoria, the programmed sessions tailored to individual abilities, and the dedicated coaches made CrossFit CL her “second home”. Mornings with the 5:45 am crew became more than just workouts; they became a tight-knit family.

Outside the gym, Shauna cherished lazy mornings and delightful breakfasts, whether at a favorite city spot or a cozy home setup. Her weekends were filled with gala events, lakeside serenity in both summer and winter, and the newfound joy of cross-country skiing. From the gym to the outdoors, Ryan's weekends are a whirlwind of activities – snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, cruising on his Harley, attending concerts, and immersing himself in the world of car shows and races.

We all love having Ryan and Shauna as part of the community that celebrates not only fitness achievements but the profound bonds that make the journey truly extraordinary.
