Meet Member & Coach Brett, sometimes answering to Bartholemew (care of Jason). Brett’s journey into Crossfit wasn't just about fitness; it marked a transformative chapter in his life. Seeking change from his previous gym, Brett found solace and growth at CFCL. The emphasis on longevity and community, coupled with Jason and the coaches' dedication, assured him he was in the right place. Beyond the workouts, Brett treasures the bonds forged within the gym community, relying on fellow members for recommendations ranging from mechanics to dieticians. He believes in the ethos of dedication and care, both in fitness and professional endeavors, finding resonance with the passionate individuals at CFCL.
Daughter Flora, who humorously acknowledges Meranda affectionally addressing all the kids as "chickens," was the next in the fam to join CFCL. For her, Crossfit at CFCL is simply a joyful experience. The camaraderie and the warmth exuded by the coaches make each session a delight.
Brother Townes, the aficionado of Nintendo Switch escapades, decided to join in the fitness fun as well. He finds fitness sanctuary in CrossFit for its effectiveness and enjoyment. It's the perfect blend of challenging workouts and fun.
Favorite Crossfit Movements
Brett gravitates towards gymnastics and snatches, reveling in the intricacies and challenges they offer. For Flora, the clean and jerk embodies her love for the dynamic and explosive nature of Crossfit movements. Townes finds solace and strength in the ring support, honing his skills with dedication.
Favorite Things Outside the Gym
For Brett, strumming his guitar and immersing himself in music is a passion that brings him immense joy and relaxation. He also truly cherishes family time, relishing in the simple joys of hanging out with loved ones between his 2on 2off schedule as a Safety Specialist at a northern mine site. Meanwhile, Flora delights in the graceful artistry of silks and gymnastics, which she practices with enthusiasm at home. Townes, on the other hand, finds creative fulfillment in Lego building, channeling his inner architect.
Favorite Holiday and Animal
Easter holds a special place for Brett, as it's a time cherished by his family (and Mom Eve’s favourite). He also resonates with the majestic bison, admiring their resilience and stoic approach to challenges. Both Townes and Flora's heart swell with joy during Christmas, reveling in the festive spirit and togetherness. Flora’s love for animals can not be narrowed down to one favourite, while Townes lists his top three as owl, Komodo dragon and cat.
In their own unique ways, the Arnott family embody the spirit of community, dedication, and joy that defines CFCL. Beyond the barbells and burpees, it's the shared experiences and connections that make their Crossfit journey truly enriching.
