Cindy & Zachary Fiddler

Meet Cindy and Zachary (aka Zach)! This mother and son duo love getting their fitness on and it has help them in creating memories and building strength together.

Cindy's CrossFit journey was inspired by her husband, and what started as a challenge became a sanctuary for her. Beyond the structured routines and undeniable results, CrossFit became a daily escape from the demands of being a teacher and a mom. It's the much-needed brain vacation that allows her to unwind and reset after hectic days of multitasking.

Cindy: I am still figuring out what my favorite CrossFit movement is. There is a lot to learn! It really depends on the day. The variety of movements and options for a work out that fits for me, is what I like the best.  No excuses, just get through the door! I keep coming back because it’s challenging and the results are undeniable.

For Zach, the gym is not just a place to work out; it's a playground of fun and social interaction. The camaraderie with other kids, especially during his favourite activities like rope climbs, makes each visit memorable.

Zach: [I really like] Rope climbs, because I’m super good at it.

Outside the gym, Cindy is a master at navigating the family's busy schedules. Her free time is dedicated to gardening and sharing laughter with friends over food and drinks. Cindy envisions her favorite holiday on top of a mountain, reveling in the serenity of the heights.

Zach's love for family shines through when he described his love for weekends filled with card games and festive Christmas celebrations because he gets to see his family. Also, his favourite animal is a Toucan, “because I have a Toucan friend at the Winnipeg zoo.”

As the Fiddler family weaves CrossFit into their lives, they also cherish the time they get to spend together.

Zach: I like going to the gym with my mom because it’s fun to work out together.

Cindy: I love that Zach and I can do this together!

We love it when families find connection with fitness. Thank you Cindy & Zach for sharing your story and being a part of the CFCL community!
